Residents have access to several shopping malls and retail outlets, including Riverdale Village Shopping Centre, Tarneit Central Shopping Centre, and many more featuring Coles, Woolworths, Kmart, Aldi, banks, post offices, food courts, groceries, and dining options.

A $70 million development underway, The Grove Shopping Centre, is set to include a full-line Woolworths, 20 specialty retailers, Chemist Warehouse, Anytime Fitness, and dining options, expected to be completed in early 2027.

Tarneit West Town Centre is a mixed-use development designed to meet the everyday needs of the growing local community.

Wyndham City Stadium

The $180 million Wyndham City Stadium in Tarneit is shaping up to be a landmark project for Melbourne’s west and Australian football. Located on Sayers Road, the stadium will feature 15,000 seats and is on track to open for the 2026–27 A-League season, with construction well underway.

This stadium is the centrepiece of the Wyndham Stadium Precinct — a major 63-hectare mixed-use development that will include:

  • An 800-lot residential community
  • Commercial and retail spaces
  • Entertainment and hospitality venues
  • Indoor sports, education, and medical facilities
  • Parklands and open public areas

A new Riverside Park, featuring an adventure playground, basketball court, and BBQ facilities, will be delivered alongside The Grove Shopping Centre. Additional amenities such as a swimming pool, gym, tennis court, walking trails, and outdoor activities are also planned.

This major infrastructure project is expected to significantly enhance the Davis Road corridor, making it a prime area for long-term investment and growth.

Education Hub

The Davis Road corridor in Tarneit has rapidly evolved into one of the most education-focused residential precincts in Melbourne’s west. It offers a concentrated network of high-quality schools within 5–10 minutes.

There’s no compromise on education — whether you want academic excellence, faith-based values, or future-ready learning, making it a top choice for families. It’s ideal for long-term living, where kids can grow from prep through to Year 12 in the same area.

The Davis Road Corridor’s education offering is a major drawcard for families, leading to strong owner-occupier demand and low vacancy rates for rentals.

Freeway & Access

The Outer Metropolitan Ring (OMR)/E6 Transport Corridor remains in the planning and reservation phase. This proposed 100 km high-speed transport corridor aims to connect Melbourne’s north and west, stretching from the Princes Freeway near Werribee to the Hume Freeway at Kalkallo, and includes provisions for both road and rail infrastructure.

The OMR is designed to alleviate congestion on the Princes Freeway, Western Freeway, Calder Freeway, and Hume Freeway in Melbourne’s growing western suburbs. It will also support future transport capacity and accessibility in the region, boosting economic development and population growth by improving access to key international transport hubs and better linking residential and employment areas.

Suburbs directly benefiting from these major infrastructure projects include the Davis Road Corridor of Tarneit. In similar cases, residential land values rose by 20–25% within the project commencement or announcement.

New Melton Hospital

Neighbouring Suburbs

With continued infrastructure expansion—such as train line upgrades, new schools, major shopping precincts, and the Davis Road corridor transformation—Tarneit is rapidly evolving into one of Melbourne’s most strategic and sought-after property markets.

Surrounding Tarneit are established suburbs like Point Cook, Williams Landing, Truganina, Werribee, Hoppers Crossing, Altona, Sunshine, and Deer Park. These neighbouring areas enhance Tarneit’s liveability and accessibility while driving continued capital growth and demand through shared amenities, employment hubs, and transport connectivity.

Tarneit is no longer just a suburb — it’s becoming a centre of opportunity in Melbourne’s booming west.

The Oakbank PSP

The Oakbank (PSP 1088) is part of the broader Wyndham North Growth Area, which includes several precincts such as Tarneit North (PSP 1089), Truganina (PSP 1090), and Riverdale (PSP 1091). These precincts are being developed to accommodate Melbourne’s expanding population.

The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) oversees the preparation of these PSPs in collaboration with Wyndham City Council. The VPA and Wyndham City Council are expected to continue working on the preparation of the Oakbank PSP, including addressing land ownership fragmentation and planning for necessary infrastructure. Once the draft PSP is completed, it will be released for public consultation before being finalized and approved.

According to the VPA, the Oakbank PSP is currently listed as “Under Preparation,” indicating that it is in the planning stages.
